On A Classic: Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil

“The reformulated classic from the original Shu Uemura cleansing oil suitable for all skin types. A medium-weight cleansing oil that leaves the skin feeling clean, balanced and moisturized. Contains licorice root derivative, amino botanical complex, and depsea water. This formula soothes sensitized skin, and maintains the skin barrier function while supporting collagen production. It also naturally provides moisture to skin, and helps to enhance skin transparency and improve skin quality.”

Nothing gives me the feeling of total face cleanliness more than the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. It’s also one of the products that I’ve been loyal to the most, having used this for six years or so. I’ve used the yellow variant—Classic High Performance Balancing—almost daily and is specially helpful whenever I have a full face of makeup on, or I’m sporting heavy eye makeup, or an extremely stubborn mascara. Nothing takes it off better and gentler than this oil. I do it the way I’ve been doing it ever since, I massage a small amount of oil to my face, mostly to the eyes and then after get a small amount of water to emulsify and work a gentle lather. I wash it off completely and if my face feels a bit dry, I skip the facial cleanser/soap and pat my skin dry. I have tried other cleansing oils but I still prefer this one than the others, mainly because it’s the most emollient I’ve tried, and rinses off leaving my face feeling better than it was every after each use.

  1. This is the one I’ve been using after I finished my bifesta. I read reviews about how Shu oils in general leave an oily film but I only experienced that once and I’m almost done with my travel size bottle 🙂

P.S. I stopped using the Casino muna because I’m suspecting it might have broken me out 😦 When my skin normalizes I will try it again to be sure.

    • Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that (about the Casino), and it was supposed to be for sensitive skin! Anyway, yes, I love Shu oils, they’re irreplaceable to me, although after several bottles, I think I might be ready to try another variant. 🙂
